E-mail support questions to helpdesk@legal-automation.com

Q.
Do you get Microsoft security warnings like "Security Warning: Unsafe
expressions are not blocked" or "This file may not be safe if it contains code
that was intended to harm your computer. Do you want to open this file or cancel
the operation?"
A. These messages originate from Microsoft's operating system in an
effort to warn you about possible threats (Our program isn't a threat). If you
get these message try these 2 things:
Step 1.
Install Microsoft Jet 4.0 SP8. If you have Windows XP and keep your computer
up to date with Microsoft downloads you will not need this step. If your
software is newer than this update, you will see a message and an option to
cancel - so give it a try.
Step 2. Change
your security level to 'low' for macros running under Access 2003 which our
program has. Click here to
change your security levels. Double-click the icon msecure10.mde, select
'low' then click "Security" button in upper left-hand corner of screen.
Step 3. Restart
our program.
Q. I
can't find my registration number. Where is it?
A.
Existing users should send an email to
helpdesk@legal-automation.com.
Send us the name and address of the person who paid for the software. We will check our database and either call or email you
with the number. A small charge will apply if your ship date exceeds
six months.
Q. What is the best way to get support?
A. We offer free
email support from helpdesk@legal-automation.com
with a 24-hour turn around. Our salespeople may or may
not have the resources to help you with a particular support problem
at the time, depending on where they are when you call (like no
computer handy). We have a lot of support scripts and knowledge
base items accumulated from various situations. Rather than have you
search around, just email us with your problem and get a
personalized answer.
Q.
While in the
Sell Wizard in Fiduciary Accounting for Professionals I get the message
'Incomplete sale.. Are you missing the X or Y schedule?"
A. Two
things cause this message:
1) X
(transfers Into Accounts) and Y (Transfers Out of Accounts) transfer
schedules are required to exist if you use the Sell Wizard to sell your
property. These schedules are generated automatically when you create a
new accounting with the Create Accounting Wizard. Check your help
file under 'Sell an Item'
2) If
you sell an item for exactly the same amount as you started with, you
may be tempted to skip the pick list choice of whether it is a gain or a
loss. Not making a choice produces this error. A work around for the
problem is to make a gain or loss schedule choice, then proceed with the
sale.
Q.
When I edit a schedule and close the schedule, I get kicked out of the program.
A. You are
clicking the wrong close (x) box in the upper right hand corner of the
screen. To make sure this doesn't happen, click on 'close current screen'
from the menu at the top of the screen instead.
Q.
After I installed the program it gives me an error message like ' Searching for
MSAccess.exe'
A. If you
have your Office software installed on a network drive you will need to
change your shortcut to the program to the new location. We assume that
Office is installed in the default location. Email for details.
